While on vacation in Austin, TX last week, my mom and I decided to make the trip up to Waco, TX to see the Magnolia Market at the Silos. IT. WAS. MAGICAL.
Speaking as someone who works in the home decor industry and am in close contact with all sorts of beautiful, inventive artwork every day, Chip and Joanna Gaines are like royalty to me. I adored their show on HGTV, The Fixer Upper, and am in constant awe of how they have expanded their brand. I love The Magnolia Journal and Joanna's cookbook, Magnolia Table. I feel like everything they touch is just simply wonderful.

The Overall Vibe
Now, I wouldn't say my personal style of home decor is farmhouse, but I do appreciate the aesthetic of shiplap, barn doors, subway tiles, and farmhouse sinks. And the Magnolia Market at the Silos is like the kingdom of all of these things. The place is perfectly decorated to fit The Fixer Upper vibe. In short, the place is gorgeous.
Not only was the overall look of the place stunning, but the employees were so nice and everyone visiting looked SO. HAPPY. You know how sometimes you go to a place and you feel super awkward taking pictures there? Well, pictures were openly accepted here. Everyone was trying to get that picture that would perfectly capture their experience at the Silos while enjoying a nice Texan spring day.

The Food Trucks
Along the back of the property are a few choices of food trucks for you to grab a bite to eat from. My mom and I had lunch at the Magnolia Table food truck which featured recipes from Chip and Joanna's restaurant.
We chose Jo's chicken salad sandwich, lemon lavender donut holes, and lavender lemonade. The chicken salad sandwich was served on a buttery croissant and tasted fresh. The donuts were surprisingly light and airy with this decadent lemon icing drizzled over top of them. The lemonade was a touch too sweet for my mom's and my taste, but we watered it down at one of the free water stations located onsite and then it tasted great.

The Garden
My favorite part of the experience (besides the food) was getting to walk through the garden in the back corner of the place with my mom. She's definitely has a green thumb (I unfortunately did not inherit this trait as exemplified by the death of my succulents this past winter) and it was fun seeing her get excited over all the plants in the garden.
The garden was bursting with greenery and the layout of the garden offered plenty of room to walk around and explore the plants there. Compared to everywhere else on the property, this was the least packed area. After touring the garden, we stopped Magnolia Seed + Supply shop where I purchased a t-shirt to remember the day by.

The Market
Our last stop was a look around the Magnolia Market. You can purchase t-shirts here too, but I'm glad I purchased one in the Magnolia Seed + Supply shop instead because the lines were really long at the checkout in the Market. The Market was a split level warehouse and both levels were packed with people which surprised me for a late Monday afternoon.

As expected, the market was decorated beautifully. As tempting as it was to purchase some home decor from their displays (from my perspective, the prices were affordable and what I expected them to be), I didn't have enough room in my suitcase to fit any souvenirs bigger than a t-shirt. Even if you don't buy anything, its still totally worth a look around because I think you can find some ideas to inspire your next home decorating adventure. Every inch of the store is perfectly curated to fit that farmhouse home decor look. All the displays are like a work of art. You can't help but walk away inspired.

The Bakery
As tempting as it was to wait in the long line for the bakery, my mom and I decided against it after having the delicious donuts with our lunch. The building was adorable and I'm sure the sweet treats inside were delectable, but I was satisfied with just getting a picture of it and basking in its glory.

Final Thoughts
If you decide to visit Magnolia Market at the Silos, I'd definitely check out their website for their 7 Tips for Enjoying Your Visit page. If you love all things farmhouse, anything to do with Chip and Joanna Gaines, or simply just like walking around beautiful spaces and looking at beautiful things, you won't be disappointed if you come to Magnolia Market at the Silos.
